At BAU 2023 in Munich from 17 to 22 April, we presented our powerful and user-friendly calculation programs for structural analysis and design. At the inviting joint stand of the Nemetschek Group, we presented the innovations in our software range, had great exchanges with customers and used the stage of the trade fair to inspire structural engineers about our solutions for more efficiency, productivity and sustainability together with SCIA<\/a> and DC-Software<\/a> in the Nemetschek Engineering merger.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Six intensive days lie behind our trade fair team. Six intensive days in which we were open around the clock to all those who visited us at the Nemetschek Group stand and showed interest in the software solutions from FRILO, DC and SCIA. We exchanged ideas with loyal customers who have been using our calculation programs for many years and simply wanted to know what was new. We listened very carefully to users who shared their suggestions for optimising individual solutions with us. We welcomed structural engineers to our workstations who were looking for powerful and reliable calculation software and, after extensive program demos, found what they were looking for. But the team also seized the opportunity to deepen our joint collaboration in discussions with partner companies such as SEMA Software or Sch\u00f6ck. “BAU has proven that it remains a central meeting point for us with current and future customers and partners,” Markus Gallenberger, CEO of FRILO, SCIA and DC-Software, sums up.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For the first time, the brands of the Nemetschek Group presented themselves bundled at a joint stand. The demonstrative solidarity left a lasting impression and ensured a particularly high visitor frequency. “The joint presence of the Nemetschek Group at one large stand paid off in full. We were able to give architects and engineers an understanding of the numerous possibilities of collaboration, which increase efficiency in the design and construction of building projects and which distinguish the Nemetschek Group,” says Gallenberger. Because it has long been clear: in the future, the digital transformation, scarcity of resources and climate change will significantly shape the design, construction and operation of buildings. With its holistic approach of offering software solutions for the entire life cycle of buildings and infrastructure projects, the Nemetschek Group<\/a> is paving the way for the construction industry to meet the current challenges with greater time and resource efficiency. Nemetschek Engineering’s solutions were particularly well received by the structural engineers: smart interfaces between SCIA Engineer and FRILO allow data to be transferred on an SAF basis and thus a more efficient design of foundations and masonry. For the detailed verification in FRILO, all information on materials, load cases and actions as well as boundary conditions already stored in the SCIA Engineer 3D model are transferred. The saving of valuable time and the reduction of error sources convinced many structural engineers. The intensified cooperation with GRAPHISOFT also aroused the interest of the planners. The combination of FRILO, SCIA and Archicad equips engineering offices optimally for the BIM future of the construction industry. The simple transfer of the created calculation model from Archicad to SCIA Engineer and\/or FRILO leads to seamless collaboration between architecture and structural engineering. Joint planning is additionally optimised because changes in SCIA can be communicated to Archicad.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The trade fair organiser, meanwhile, also looked back positively on BAU. After an absence of more than four years, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems returned with an excellent result. Around 190,000 visitors came to the Munich Trade Fair Centre on the six days of the fair to find out about new products and trends from the 2,260 exhibitors from 49 countries. “BAU has once again proven that it is and remains the most important stage for innovations and premieres in the building sector. Despite the four-year forced break, more companies than ever before presented themselves in Munich. This underpins the very positive response to trade fairs and, in particular, to world-leading trade fairs, as was already evident in 2022,” the two trade fair directors Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel summed up BAU 2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
