"I am continuously in exchange with our users and developers"

Tamara
Tamara Schäfer has been experiencing a varied and responsible day-to-day work as product manager at FRILO since 2020.

Tamara Schäfer already knows the FRILO programs since her studies. Therefore, she greatly enriched the Product Management & Support Team 2020 with her experience. In her position, she is in daily exchange with colleagues, customers and partners to make FRILO solutions even better. In the interview, she talks about the tasks she holds in the team and what she finds so exciting about her work.

Hello Tamara! How did your path lead you to FRILO about 3 years ago?

Already during my studies and also when I was still working as a structural engineer, the FRILO programs accompanied and supported me on a daily basis. I particularly liked the simple operation of the PLUS programs. By chance I came across a job advertisement from FRILO. I then applied immediately and the relaxed atmosphere at the interview completely convinced me.

What does your day-to-day work as a product manager look like?

In addition to customer support, I hold training sessions and webinars. Furthermore, I test our programs, think about new functions and how the software can be made even more customer-friendly. In doing so, I am in continuous exchange with our users and developers.

The cooperation between SCIA, DC and FRILO is also becoming more and more important. Because of my work in the area of interfaces, I also have a lot of contact with colleagues from the other brands. We are thinking about how we can connect the programs even better in the future so that our users can work even more efficiently.

What was your most extraordinary experience at FRILO?

Shortly after I started at FRILO, I was thrown in at the deep end and had to give a presentation at our release event in front of about 750 customers and interested parties. I was so nervous. Looking back, however, I am also very proud of myself and glad that I jumped over my shadow and did it. In the meantime, such presentations are part of my everyday work.

What do you like about working in the FRILO team?

I find it very exciting to be able to look behind the scenes and gain insights into program development. I enjoy testing the functionality and quality of the programs and seeing that my own ideas have been incorporated and implemented. I particularly like the friendly interaction between colleagues and the mutual support. I also like the trust placed in me, the open communication with my superiors and the many freedoms I have.

What do you do when you’re not working?

As a rule, I’m always on the road. I love to explore other countries, cultures and their culinary delights. Otherwise, I like to go hiking or climb via ferrata, and in winter you can also find me on a ski slope.
