Reinforced Soil with Geosynthetics & Gabion Walls
The “Reinforced Soil with Geosynthetics & Gabion Wall” program is used to analyze and design gabions and supporting structures made of concrete elements or layered blocks in accordance with the FGSV code of practice. With gabions, Different wall types are selectable whose geometries can be adapted very variably. For reinforced soil structures using geosynthetics, both the internal and external stability of the construction are verified and an analysis of the forces and the lengths of the geosynthetic material is performed.
Only available in FRILO Geotechnic Ultimate
Performance characteristics
Material
- Selection of predefined geosynthetics with reduction factors and a freely expendable parameter list
Structural system
- Various wall types can be selected, including gabions and pile stones, with variable block dimensions, inclinations and offsets
- Free-standing constructions are possible, e. g. noise protection walls
- Various lining walls can be selected
- For the accurate internal modelling of the foundation dimensions, it is possible to import DXF graphics as a background
Soil
- Any kind of soil stratification
Ground surface
- Horizontal and inclined ground surface
Groundwater
- Any groundwater levels can be defined
Loads
- Several load cases with:
- vertical and horizontal concentrated loads
- vertical line loads as the static load or railway traffic as the live load
- concentrated moments and consideration of earth pressure and earthquake loads
Geotechnical verifications
Gabion walls:
-
- Analysis in accordance with the FGSV Code of Practice
- Verification of the external stability: overturning, sliding, ground failure and base failure
- Verification of the stability between the blocks: overturning, sliding as well as verifications of the gabion wire or the concrete
Reinforced Soil with Geosynthetics:
- Verification of the internal stability: sliding block analysis
- Verification of the external stability: overturning, sliding, ground failure and base failure
- Verification of the turn-up length and the earth pressure on the outer skin
- Analysis of the forces and lengths of the geosynthetic product
- Verification of the lining wall: overturning, sliding, absorption of anchoring force, strength (concrete and natural stone blocks) and bar diameter (gabion walls)
Results
- Detailed output of the individual load cases as text and graphics
